Why a compressed PDF can become larger
This tool renders selected pages as images and builds a new PDF. A text-based or already optimized PDF may become larger.
Selectable text, searchability and sharp vector details may be lost. Keep your original and compare file size, page range and readability before using the result.
Inputs and starting values
| Input | Starting value / example | Available options |
|---|---|---|
| Files (processed in the order selected) | Choose a local file | |
| Pages (e.g. 1,3-5; blank for all) | Enter your own value |
Things to check
Files are processed in your browser. Password-protected PDFs are not supported. The compressor rebuilds the selected pages as an image PDF, which can sometimes be larger.
The starting values are examples, not recommendations. Check the units and replace them with your own values.
